PCI increases parquet adhesive production in Wittenberg by 122 percent with new plant

PCI Augsburg GmbH has more than doubled its production capacity for THOMSIT parquet adhesives with a new parquet adhesive plant in its location in Lutherstadt Wittenberg (Saxony-Anhalt). Wittenberg's Lord Mayor Torsten Zugehör inaugurated the expansion of the plant on January 5, 2023 together with the PCI management and the project team. After the expansion of the Augsburg dispersion plant in November 2022, this is the company's second recently completed major project.
To date, the company has produced around 900 tons* of SMP adhesive for the THOMSIT and PCI brands in the existing parquet adhesive plant. With an investment in the almost single-digit millions, PCI Augsburg GmbH has now expanded and modernized the system at its plant in Lutherstadt Wittenberg. In the summer of 2022, another silo was set up on the Wittenberg factory premises and three additional bucket filling stations with double filter units were built to ensure the high quality of the products. The new plant was completed after a construction period of just nine months and is already running at full capacity. This more than doubles the total capacity to around 2,000 tons per year. In addition, the company has created two new jobs in production and quality control. The ceremonial inauguration of the new facility took place on January 5, 2023 in the presence of Wittenberg's Lord Mayor Torsten Zugehör as well as the management of PCI Augsburg GmbH and the company's responsible project team at the Wittenberg site.
This is the second major project by PCI Augsburg GmbH to be completed in the last 3 months. On November 17, 2022, the company celebrated the inauguration of its new dispersion plant in Augsburg. The production capacity was doubled here. Thanks to these two expansions, PCI Augsburg GmbH can deliver to its customers even faster and ensure its delivery promise (“on the next working day to the customer”) in the long term.
In the expanded parquet adhesive plant in Wittenberg, THOMSIT-SMP adhesives in particular are now manufactured which are based on the specially developed VISKO-FLEX technology and offer users a high level of convenient application as well as time and cost savings. Overall, PCI Augsburg GmbH produces around 40,000 tons per year at the Wittenberg site.
